Sustainable Sculptures
- Where Art Meets Environmental Responsibility -
My passionate journey toward environmental sustainability took a significant turn after completing a course in business and sustainability at Oxford University. This experience ignited my commitment to creating art that not only captivates but also champions our planet.
Each sculpture in this collection is thoughtfully crafted from sustainably sourced or donated materials, beautifully showcasing the potential of eco-friendly artistry. By prioritising sustainable practices, I aim to create not just beautiful works of art, but also to raise awareness about the urgent need to protect our environment.
As part of my commitment to giving back, I will donate 25% of all sales from this collection to the National Trust, a charity dedicated to preserving our nation's heritage and natural beauty for future generations.
I invite you to join me on this exciting journey as we celebrate art, sustainability, and the preservation of our environment. Together, we can make a difference, one sculpture at a time.
The Face of Beauty is a striking gold and white sculpture that delves into the complex themes of beauty, imperfection, and societal perceptions. The contrasting colours symbolise both elegance and purity while challenging traditional notions of beauty. This piece represents the unique narratives carried by each visage, urging viewers to embrace imperfections as a vital part of the human experience.
Made entirely from up-cycled materials, it incorporates reclaimed plastic for the base structure, repurposed metal for facial features, and excess paint from previous projects to achieve its striking gold and white finish.
Additionally, a significant aspect of “The Face of Beauty” is its commitment to social impact, with 25% of proceeds from sales being donated to www.changingfaces.org.uk, an organisation dedicated to supporting individuals with facial disfigurements. This sculpture invites dialogue about acceptance, dignity, and the celebration of diversity in all its forms, capturing a visage that is both ethereal and haunting and reflecting the idea that true beauty lies not in flawlessness, but in the rich stories each face tells.
"The Shadowed Nest," is an exquisite black artwork meticulously crafted from the feathers of Tottenham's pigeons. Importantly, no pigeons were harmed in the creation of this piece, allowing us to honour the beauty of these often-overlooked creatures without compromising their well-being.
This striking artwork captures the essence of elegance and simplicity, drawing the observer into a world where the monochromatic palette serves not only as a visual testament to nature's grace but also as a catalyst for deeper contemplation. Each feather, delicately arranged, invites viewers to explore the intricate patterns and textures, evoking a sense of wonder and appreciation for the natural world.
"The Shadowed Nest" challenges the observer to look beyond mere aesthetics, encouraging reflection on the interconnections of life and the stories that nature tells through its humble elements. This piece stands as a remarkable celebration of artistry and sustainability, inviting you to engage with the shadows and light that shape our environment.
